🤝 Serving Our Neighbours

Community Outreach & Programs

Extending the love of Christ beyond our church walls into every corner of our community.

Making a Difference in Leask

At the Anglican Parish of Leask, we believe that faith without action is incomplete. Inspired by Jesus' teaching to love our neighbours as ourselves, we actively work to address the practical needs of those in our community — from ensuring no one goes hungry to making sure our seniors feel seen and valued.

Our outreach programs reflect the unique character of rural Saskatchewan — they are practical, relational, and sustainable. Rather than large-scale programs requiring extensive resources, we focus on consistent, meaningful actions that make a real difference to real people in Leask and the surrounding region.

We partner with local organizations, regional networks, and — most importantly — the people of our community, to build a place where everyone can thrive. These programs are made possible through the dedication of our volunteers and the generous support of our parish members.

  • Partnership with regional food bank networks for food hamper distribution
  • Seasonal food hamper program for families and individuals in need
  • Parish community garden providing fresh produce to community members
  • Anonymous "Help Yourself" pantry stocked with non-perishable essentials

We invest in the young people and families of Leask, supporting them in faith, community, and the challenges of growing up in rural Saskatchewan.

  • Summer Vacation Bible School — a beloved tradition for children
  • Youth fellowship gatherings with games, music, and meaningful discussion
  • Intergenerational faith activities connecting youth with parish elders
  • Family movie and game nights open to the whole community
  • Support for parents in faith formation at home

Senior Outreach & Pastoral Care

Our seniors deserve to feel valued, visited, and cared for. We take our ministry to older community members seriously and joyfully.

  • Regular home visitation and care home visits by clergy and volunteers
  • Pastoral counseling and spiritual support for those in difficulty
  • Transportation assistance for medical appointments in Prince Albert or Saskatoon
  • Weekly Seniors' Social Circle — tea, activities, and great company
  • Memorial and bereavement support for grieving families

Community Partnership

We are stronger together. Our parish actively builds partnerships that amplify our impact and strengthen the whole community of Leask.

  • Respectful collaboration with Mistawasis Nêhiyawak First Nation
  • Support for Village of Leask community events and celebrations
